Alvin C. (Bob) Schultz, 71, of 18th and Viebahn streets, Rt. 3, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Monday afternoon at Hotel Howard, Manitowoc, where he had been employed.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens in the Town of Kossuth.

Mr. Schultz, son of the late Joseph J. and Minerva Woodard Schultz, was born Mrach [sic] 11, 1891, at Kewaunee. As a young man he taught in Kewaunee County schools and later was employed by Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers.

About 1930 he engaged in the electrical trade and was employed by Anderson Electric Co., Manitowoc. During World War I he was an electrician in the submarine building program at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. After the war he was employed by Craft's Electric Inc., until 1956 when he was employed by Hotel Howard management as a maintenance man.

Active in music circles, he was a charter member of Hamilton Band of Two Rivers and was a member of the Aluminum Specialty and Drews-Bleser American Legion Post bands of Manitowoc. In the 1920s he organized a Boy Scout band at Manitowoc. He served as treasurer of Electricians Local No. 751.

He married Florence Sweetman at Menominee, Mich., Sept. 27, 1912, and the couple lived at Kewaunee and Two Rivers before coming to Manitowoc in 1926. They would have observed the golden wedding anniversary of their wedding next month.

Survivors are his wife, two sons, Marvin and Joseph, of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Leschke, of Manitowoc; a brother Raymond, of Wyandotte, Mich., and 18 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
