"May J. Hunter, 84, of Akron, passed away July 4, 1994. Mrs. Hunter had been a resident of Akron for the last 50 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by son, William B., brothers, Matthew and Charles Kunz, and sisters, Emily Haney, Catherine Sontag, and Clara Shaffer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Merle B.; daughter... grandchildren... and great-granddaughter... all of the City of Green. Funeral service Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wilbeth Rd., Pastor Michael Maciupa officiating. Calling hours TODAY, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 1446 S. Main St., and on Thursday one hour prior to funeral service at the church. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in her memory. "
