Mrs. Dorothy "Betty" Rinehart, age 89, a resident of Carolina House Forest City formerly of Oxford Street, Spindale, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 7, 2014 while being cared for at Willow Ridge Rehab Center. A native of Washington County, TN she was a retired school teacher and a faithful member of Spindale Church of The Brethren. Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Dottie Randolph and her husband Tarrance of Green Creek, NC; three sons, Chuck Rinehart and his wife Alisa of Shelby, NC; Richard Rinehart of Knoxville, TN and David Rinehart and his wife Chris of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Charlotte McKay of Bridgewater, VA and Margaret King of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one daughter in law Brenda Rinehart and a number of other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles Rinehart, her son Rev. Joe Rinehart and her parents William and Laura Gwin Swadley. A celebration of her life will be held 2 PM Friday May 9, 2014 at Spindale Church of the Brethren with her son Chuck Rinehart officiating. The family will receive friends in the family life center of the church from 12:30 – 2 PM Friday May 9, 2014. Interment services will be held at Eternal Hills Cemetery formerly Sunset Memorial Park immediately following the funeral.
