NAPA - Phillip L. Huffman, 75, passed away at Queen of the Valley Hospital on Feb. 6, 2002.
He was born in Novlesville, Indiana, on Dec. 17, 1926, to Lee W. and Ruby Huffman.
Phillip was educated in Indiana and received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in August of 1957. He continued his education at the University of Washington, where he received a masters degree in December of 1958.
He was employed as a nuclear engineer at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 23 years, retiring in 1989. He had been a resident of Napa since 1971.
He was a very kind and caring man who will be missed and loved forever by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Napa; Jeff Huffman, son and his wife, Denise Lantz Huffman of Napa; daughter Linda Smith and her husband, Jan, of Napa; daughter Susan Geremia of Napa; sisters Marie Cunningham, Edith Fulton and Susie Teachnot of Indiana. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Garrett and Keary Smith, Jesse and Shane Geremia, Lindsey and Lacey Huffman.
The family wants to give special thanks to Laurie Willett and all his other caregivers for taking such good care of our father.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Tulocay Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m.
Arrangements were by the Claffey & Rota Funeral Home.
