Ruth A. Campleman, long-time resident of Palmyra, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2014, after a long illness. She was 85.

Born to a large family in the Ironbound section of Newark, N.J., Mrs. Campleman was a graduate of East Side High School then moved to Palmyra in 1953 and lived there until 2007, when she moved to Lutheran Crossings in Moorestown. She was a long-time congregant of Bethany Lutheran Church in Palmyra, where she served as church secretary, as well as on church council, the Dorcas Women's Circle and choir. She was also a volunteer at Samaritan Hospice. Ruth loved family, church and the Philadelphia Phillies, who she followed closely since moving to this area.

Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank J. Corbi and then James A. Campleman.

Ruth leaves behind her loving children, Ruthane Arcaini of Palmyra, Frank Corbi of Marlton and Gary Corbi of Bensalem, Pa. She is also survived by her sister, Hannah of Ocala, Fla. and her brother, Arthur of Fairfax, Va. Ruth leaves behind five grandchildren, Christopher, David and Corinne Corbi and Ryan and Taylor Arcaini; and also is survived by Julie Griffith and Nicole Shilliday.

A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Broad and Morgan St., Palmyra, where friends and relatives may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the service. Inurnment will follow immediately after the service in the church's memorial garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Ruth's name be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church, 617 Morgan Ave., Palmyra, NJ 08065.
