Eliza Catherine Bell, daughter of Jonathan and Mary E. Craft, was born in Parke county, Indiana, March 15, 1852, and died at Veedersburg, November 29, 1931. She was married to Ransom H. Bell in 1867. To this union were born four children, one daughter Emma Rosetta, died in infancy. Her companion died December 6, 1906.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary F. Goings, of Veedersburg, Mrs. Anna Husted, of Topeka, Kansas; one son, John E. Bell of Danville, Illinois. Besides these children also W. C. Drollinger, whom they reared from childhood. One sister, Mrs. Lydia M. Hayden, of Danville, Indiana; two brothers, Frank Craft, of Williamsport, and Micheal Craft, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, also survive. Nine grand-children and one great, great grandchild, with other relatives and a host of friends who will miss her.
When young in years she professed faith in Christ and united with the United Brethren church. Her delight was to help others. Just a few hours before passing from the earth side, she told her loved ones she was ready and waiting to cross over. Earth's loss is heaven's gain.
