Micheal William Hill Sr. (Mike) age 69, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on May 5, 2014. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6910 Riverview Rd, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Visitation will be from 10am-11:30am and the Funeral Services will be from 11:30am- 1:30pm. Burial following the service in Leavenworth National Cemetery Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or Saint Michael's Veterans Center Inc. of Kansas City Missouri. Mr. Hill was born the 15th of February 1945 in Topeka, Kansas. He was in the US Army from August 1965- August 1967 and served in Vietnam War as Medic. He participated on a committee in advising the black male's task force of Kansas City on various problems that African American youth encounter. Mr. Hill became a Church Elder in November 2005 and received his COGIC Ministers License July 12, 1965. He was an Educator, Substance Prevention Specialist, and Adjunct instructor, Treatment Director, and Researcher. Mr. Hill graduated in May 1987 from the University of Kansas, Lawrence Kansas with a Master's of Science in Community Health Education; May 1975 from Park College, Parkville Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology; and in May 1972 from Kansas City Kansas Community College with an Associate's of Arts in Sociology. Micheal was preceded in death by his parents Oddesia, Marian Crith (Clyde) and David Hill Sr. He leaves in God's care: wife Gina and daughter Ashley Hill; his first wife: Dorothy Vaughn Hill, mother of his five children: Leah Hill-Williams (Wayne), Rachel Hill, Micheal Hill II (Dayna), Menissa Hill-Brox (David) and Michelle Hill Jones (Thomas); siblings David Hill (Loretta), Marion B. Hill, James H. Hill (Gweni), John Divers (Dawn) and Wayne Crith (Linda); 12 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charter Funerals, 816-921-5555
