She was born Oct 12, 1919 in Rellingen, Germany, daughter of the late Paul and Marie Lerche. She married Elroy Wolf on Oct. A, 1941 in Brillion. Liese was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, the Brillion Senior Citizens and a former member of the Ladies Aid.
She created beautiful wedding cakes and made fancy Christmas cookies. She enjoyed crocheting, making the crocheted Christmas ornaments and working with plastic canvas, rag-rug weaving, her flowers (especially roses and irises) and playing cards and bingo at the nursing home.
Liese had a special love for her Green Bay Packers. She will always be remembered for her daily hugs at the nursing home.
Liese is survived by her children and their families:
Jim (Betty) Wolf of Lakewood, Colo., and their children: Laurie, Andrea and Tammy;
Mary Eickert of Forest Junction, and her children: Scott (Mary), Kristine (Mark) Brooks, Paul, Timothy, Staci and fiance, Jake;
John (Mary) Wolf of Rhinelander, and their children: Michelle (Ted) Ballestead, Matt (Kelly), Ben;
and eight great-grandchildren: Clara, Wayne, Boden, Kaleb, Melissa, Jonathan, Eric and Alexis; a sister-in-law: Ethel Lerche of Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Elroy on Nov. 3, 1995; a son-in-law: Wayne Eickert; two brothers: Paul and Erwin; and three sisters-in-law: Etta, Alice and Celia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, with the Rev. David Rockhoff officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, May 5, 2005 from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion assisted the family with arrangements.
