Mr. Lau was born June 9, 1888, in the town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, son of the late Theodore and Caroline Schroeder Lau. He married the former Selma Labitzke Sept. 12, 1912, at Rantoul. The couple farmed in the town of Rockland until 1940 when it moved to Brillion. His wife preceded him in death in 1961. The last two years Mr. Lau had been making his home with his son and daughter-in-law at Manitowoc.
Survivors include a son, Edgar of Manitowoc; three brothers, Arthur, of Brillion, Theodore of Wisconsin Dells, and Henry of Milwaukee, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Kraus of Appleton and Mrs. Alma Krepline and Mrs. William Goldschmidt of Brillion.
