OBITUARY KNOXVILLE SENTINEL

DYCUS, DALLAS J. - 72, formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, December 31 following a short illness. Dallas was a 1959 graduate of Holston High School where he played basketball and ran track. He served in the 101st Airborne Division and graduated from ETSU in 1966. Dallas had a successful commercial real estate career building shopping centers and office buildings in Elizabethton, Boston, Atlanta, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Dallas' life will be remembered for his love for his family and friends and the generosity he showed to all who knew and loved him. He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. Dallas is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Phyllis; his son, D.J., Jr.; his daughter in law, Tammy; granddaughters, Andi, Olivia and Molly; his sister and brother, Carolyn Williams and David Dycus; and his mother in law, Virginia Taylor Laws. The family wishes to thank Johnson City Medical Center for their service and care over the last week. In lieu of flowers, Dallas asked that memorial gifts be given to the Coalition for Kids at 2308 Watauga Rd., Johnson City, TN 37601.
