He was born in Avon to Charles F. Johnson and Beatrice Truax on 20 Mar 1927. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie LaDue Rossier and his siblings, Bertha Miller, Charles, Hiram, Beatrice, Justus and Darius. Silas went to Canton High School joining the Army before he graduated. After completing his WWII tour he returned to Avon and joined Carpenters union and the Unionville VFW. He is survived by his nieces and his nephew, and four great nieces.
He will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Lovely Street in Avon on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:30 am. Also included in the funeral service will be his brother and his sister. All are welcome to attend.
