Jerry B. Ennis, 69, of Atkins, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 1, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was born December 1, 1940, in Pope County, the son of Earnest and Hazel Reynolds Ennis. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers-in-law, Rev. Bill Williams and Douglas Patton.

He was a 1959 graduate of Atkins High School and a U.S.Army veteran serving in Alaska. Jerry retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Missouri and attended the Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law; James and Mary Ennis of Atkins, Johnny and Carolyn Ennis of Dover, Billy Ennis of Atkins, Walter and Kathy Ennis of Atkins, Bobby and Karen Ennis of Atkins, Bobby and Karen Ennis of Atkins; sisters, Leoda Williams and Sharon Patton both of Atkins, eight nephews and one niece.

Graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2009, at St. Joe Cemetery with Rev. Geno Johnson and Rev. J. C. Kinder officiating. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Keith Williams, Jamie Ennis, Scott Ennis, Kevin Ennis, Jason Ennis, Bruce Ennis, Daryl Patton and Thomas Patton.
