Manuel Curtis Williams (AKA M.C.) June 1, 1925 Jan. 3, 2006 An hour of meditation will be held Monday, January 9th from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Beloved Funeral Home located at 118 18th Street. A celebration of life services will be held Tuesday, January 10th @ 11:am at Trinity Temple Church of God In Christ, located on 1028 O Street Bakersfield , CA. 93304. Interment will immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (Panama Lane) Manuel was born June 1, 1925, in Paris Texas. After completing high school he was drafted into the United States Navy. After an honorable tour of duty the family moved to Vallejo, CA. There he met the love of his life , Doris Johnson. They were subsequently married and moved to Bakersfield. From this union was born one son, Richard Deacon Williams, and one daughter, Patricia Denise Williams. The family joined "O" Street Church, later named Trinity Temple Church of God In Christ, where he remained a member until his passing. Manuel worked as a labor in the Construction Industry, and later became the Business Agent for the Local 220 Union. After retiring from the Union with 33 years of service, for a short period he was a crossing Guard. Then went to work for the City of Bakersfield at the Martin Luther King Center, until the Lord called him home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Doris Williams, son Richard Williams, daughter Patricia Williams Norris, 3 grand children Shay Williams, Derrick and Jocelyne Norris, and one great-grandson Marcas WardWilliams. He also left to cherish his home going a host of relatives and friends. Manuel was loving kind hearted andhumble man. He was a true soldier for God and willbe missed by all. Legacy.com
