Gibson Nancy Lynne (Ferrell)Nancy Gibson, age 74, passed away at home on Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born December 10, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to James Sr. and Helen Ferrell, growing up in Hillsdale, MI. Nancy married David A. Gibson in 1962, and together they raised two daughters, Lori and Diana.She was preceded in death by David; her birth mother, Helen Harkai Ferrell; father, James; brother, James Ferrell Jr., and sister, Paulette Ferrell. She is survived by daughters, Lori Meade and Diana Gibson; grandchildren, Bobby and Caitie Meade; brother, Richard (Marji) Ferrell; mother, Ruth Ferrell McCune; sister-in-law, Barbara Foreman-Breault; nieces, Christie Iott and Nancy Vesoulis; nephew, Steve Foreman and her many dear friends who were always close by to lift her spirits. Nancy underwent a kidney transplant in 2009, which was donated by her daughter, Diana. Nancy's physical health issues steadily declined, but as always, she faced them head-on with courage and without complaint. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.The family extends heart-felt gratitude to all her caregivers at UTMC and ProMedica Hospice, most especially Brittany and Jessica.At her request, a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
