Funeral Service for Henry Max Philpott, 79, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Powell, pastor of First Baptist West, officiating.

Mr. Philpott died Firday, September 4th, 2009 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Henry M. Phipott was born on August 4th, 1930 in Monroe County, Indiana to James Corbett and Nellie Jewel (Haire) Philpott. He joined the United States Army on December 6, 1948. He received numerus awards and medals before his retirement on December 31, 1968 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He worked at Columbia Records for many years as an electrical engineer.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Melinda Collette and Michael Hawkins, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his sons and daughters in law, Henry L. and Ruth Philpott, of Germany, Wilhelm M. and Laurie Philpott, Theodore J. and Lorie Philpott, and Robert L. and Rita Philpott, all of Lawton; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Mr. Philpott was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John Eugene Philpott, Leonard Lee Philpott, James Adren Philpott, and Ottis Thomas Philpott, three sisters, Lena Mae Leturgez, Melinda Francis Payton, and Veneta Mitchel Cazee.

Memorial contributions may be made ot First Baptist West Building Fund at 7302 NW Cache Road, Lawton, Oklahoma 73505.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 7th., 2009, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

He married again to Effie Maria "Marie" Hammer, maiden name Allen...Their marriage record list they married 28 Jul 1970, Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.
