New Richmond--Dennis R. Blankenship, 52 died
12:02 pm Wednesday May 29, 1991 in a Charleston
Hospital.
Born May 6,1939 at New Richmond, he was the son
of the late Morgan and Cordia Adkins Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship was a lifelong resident of New
Richmond, was a member of the NRA, UMW, district
29, and was a miner at the Belle Enterprises and
Keenan # 2 Mines , Big Mountain.
Mr. Blankenship hobby was walking the trails
at Twin Falls State Park, He was an avid Hunter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers,
Eugene, Morris and Coy Blankenship.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Nancy L.
Blankenship, four sons, Bill and his wife Marty
Blankenship, Timmy and his wife Michelle
Blankenship all of Reidsville N.C., Donnie and
his wife Mary Blankenship, Jeff and his wife
Capriece Blankenship all of Winston Salem N.C.
Two sisters; Letha Allen of Ravencliff and
Pauletta Shrewsbury of Mocksville N.C. Five
brothers; Roy Blankenship of East Bend N.C.,
Bob Blankenship of Greensboro N.C., James and
Theodore Blankenship, both of Pineville and Elden
Blankenship of Brenton. Two Grandchildren and one
step grandchild.
Services will be 1 pm Saturday at the New Richmond
Chapel, New Richmond with the Revs Larry England
and dallas Adkins Officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wiley Bower Cemetery
at Twin Falls State Park, Saulsville.
Friends may call 6 to 9 pm today at the Tankersley
Funeral Home Mullens and one hour prior to the
service at the church.
