CULVER, Mr. James B. "Jimmy" died peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends Wednesday night, April 30, 2014.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, officiated by ministers Louis Culver, Shane Russell and Jim Hammonds. Burial will follow in Coosa River Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday prior to services at the church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dot Gibbons Culver; son, Steve (Susan) Culver; daughters, Faye (Wayne) Weldon, Debra (Roger) Coy, Melissa (Jimmy Ray) Garnett; grandchildren, Alicia (Jim) Hammonds, Emily Weldon, Levi Culver, Jacob Garnett, Olivia Garnett and a step-grandson, Andy (Vicki) Coy; great-granddaughters, Sidney Grace Culver, Annie Coy and Amber Coy; sister-in-law, Nell Culver.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Culver, John Culver and David Culver and a sister, Gladys Culver Hyde.

Pallbearers will be Levi Culver, Richard Todd, Steven Culver, Jacob Garnett, Don Yarbrough and Richard Burleson. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Lake Martin Hospice for the care and compassion they provided during Mr. Culver's illness.
