Carl Barnett, age 87, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Brookside Rehab and Care in Burnsville, NC. A native of the Pigeon Roost Community in Green Mtn, NC, he was the son of the late Woodard and Martha Willis Barnett and the husband of Lucille Ray Barnett who passed away in 1987.

Carl was a GM Certified Tech for 23 years and also enjoyed doing auto body work. He also mastered many other jobs in his lifetime including: small engine repair, barber, timber cutter and woodworker, and night watchman and boiler room operator for Glen Raven Mills in Burnsville. Carl was a member of the Lower Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church where he was baptized years ago. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Allen Barnett, great granddaughter, Jacey; sisters, Della Miller, Rhea Barnett and Lola Barnett; brother, Floyd Barnett.
