Carolyn Robb Long Franklin, age 82, a long-time resident of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on May 3, 2014. Carolyn was our amazing mother, wonderful wife, and truly wonderful friend.

She was born March 13, 1932 as the only child of Evelyn and Albert Long of Kansas City, Missouri. Carolyn graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, MO. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart William (Bill) Neil Franklin and they both attended the University of Missouri. They lived in Kansas City for several years and relocated to Central Florida in 1967. They were happily married for 38 years and had four children.

Carolyn was an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Winter Park and the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA. Her strong and inspired faith sustained and enriched her life.

Carolyn was a prominent and successful ASID Interior Designer in the Orlando area since 1971. She has been quoted for articles, published in magazines and won numerous awards for her outstanding design services. When Carolyn finally opened her own business Winter Park, the community gained a woman who dedicated herself for the next 30 years, to the art of creating a beautiful home her clients would be proud to live in.

Many local organizations were recipients of her time and talent. She was an active member first of the Junior League and then the Central Florida Women's League: a participant of the Orlando Museum of Arts: a donor to the local fine art and music businesses, and collector of fine antiques: an avid reader and world travel.

Her greatest desire was to always be productive and her energy knew no bounds. She was an example to all of the fullness of a life filled with friends, passion for her profession, and philanthropic avenues. Her children often referred to her as the "Energizer Bunny".

Carolyn is survived by Bill Franklin and their children: Stephen A. Franklin and his wife Lorrie Franklin, Deborah Franklin, Catherine Franklin (Trevett) and her husband Roger D. Trevett and Jennifer Franklin. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sean, Logan and Dillon Franklin, and her four great grandchildren, Chelsea, Ryan, Aaron and McKenzie Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either Adventure Unlimited (adventureunlimited.org) or the Central Florida Women's League (cfwl.org) or a charity of your local Hospice organization.
