Sharon Vayle Collins Sherman, 69, of Bloomsburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

Sharon was born July 23, 1944, in Endicott, N.Y., but grew up in Laurel Lake, Pa., a daughter of the late O. Glenn and Esther (Rustay) Collins.

She was a 1962 graduate of Montrose Area High School and studied at Davis Bible School in Johnson City, N.Y. She was an avid horse lover from an early age, whether she was trail riding, brushing them or watching them grazing in the field. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walking and running. She loved antiquing and auctions.

Sharon attended church at New Testament Assembly of God in Millville, and enjoyed fellowship at her Women's Bible Studies, where she joked, laughed and loved to pick on Pastor David Rosenberger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Riley Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Spencer Sherman Jr., and they celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on April 14; a son, Scott Sherman and his wife Sue of Johnson City, N.Y.; two daughters: Sharmayne and her husband Donald Brown, and Sherice Sherman, all of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: Samantha and her husband Nick, Mackenzie, Sidney, Sarah and Gracyn; three great-grandchildren: Mia, Gabriella and Italo; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a brother, Warren W. Collins, of Bloomsburg.

Services will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. at New Testament Assembly of God, 2376 Pennsylvania 42, Millville, PA 17846, with Pastor David Rosenberger, her pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 110 W. 10th St., Wilmington, DE 19801.

Sharon's family wishes to thank staffers at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital for all their care and support.
