STERLING - Ruth V. Schulz, age 77, of Sterling, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Ruth was born January 25, 1937 in Bardstown, KY, the daughter of Theodore and Annie Ruth (Robinson) Aldridge. She married John Schutz on December 15, 1979 in Rock Falls.
Ruth was CNA for many years and also worked at GE as a factory worker tester for twelve years. She was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls and was very involved there.
Survivors include her husband, John Schutz; two daughters, Jan (Mike) Devine and Doris (Howard) Smith; three sons, John Michael Schutz, Howard (Patty) Finnicum and Robert Alan (Karla) Alender; two sisters, Mary LaFrence and Anna (Curry) Hicks; two brothers, Robert (Silvia) Aldridge and Reverend Lester Aldridge; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two sisters, four brothers and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 1 - 2 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be at 2PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Cremation rites will follow.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
