It was the sad duty of the writer on Sept. 9, to officiate at the funeral of one of Noble county's noble mothers. Rebecca Scarborough was born May 13, 1812 and departed this life Sept. 8, 1897. She was aged over 85 years. She was married to John Linn 1832. There were 14 children born to them of whom 11 still live. Some of the best citizens of Beaver township are sons and daughters of Mother Linn.

She was a member of the Beaver Baptist church for 40 years. She was faithful to her church in every way. Her Savior was her friend in need and through a score of years of suffering her patience showed her walk with Him.

The funeral occurred at twilight. We all said, "good night" but sons and daughters you may say also "good morning". Tears were shed over her by many to whom the hands of blessing had been extended.

The sincere thanks of the friends of the deceased are extended to the neighbors for their kindness in their trouble.
