Funeral services for Katherine Pati Kennedy age 56 Eagle Butte, will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 8:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte.
Burial will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Katherine Pati passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her home in Eagle Butte.
Pati was born to the late Arthur Moran and Joyce Circle Eagle Hill on March 17, 1958 at Old Agency.
Pati attended the Isabel Grace School and Cheyenne Eagle Butte High School and attended the Lakota Presentation College. April 18, 1998 Pati married Michael "Mike" Kennedy, together they made their home in Eagle Butte, SD and she was employed by several jobs with the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Indian Health Services and she also served as the Assistance Tribal Secretary for Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
Pati had the love of healing others by volunteering and she was a faithful servant of God, she believed in the power of prayer.
Pati was a dedicated gardener she could plant beautiful flowers, trees and vegetables, she always shared her harvest with many who enjoyed home grown.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking craft work, reading her Bible, visiting on the phone, going to church, watching the gospel channel, singing and praising the Lord, watching the Walton's and all the old time shows on television.
Pati loved to be in the company of her children and grand babies, and also loved sharing time with her family and friends.
Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23, her favorite songs were Ten Thousand Ways, My God Is An Awesome God, Amazing Grace and I Exalt Thee.
Pati is survived by her husband Michael "Mike" Kennedy, children; Daughter; Samantha Jewett, Sons; Gilbert Lee (Lea'Shay) Moran, Ronnie Ray Moran, Jimi Jewett, Louis "Arte" Artelle (LeeAnn) Jewett. Grandbabies; Gilbert Jr., ShaiAnn, Emily, Ronnie, Jr., Zachary, RaeAnn, Iyanna, Jacob, Ronaye, Kadee (Kim), CJ (Angel Lee), Dante, Isabelle, and Piper.
Mother; Joyce Hill, sisters; Ardys Cook, Shelly (Gary) Alkire, Amy Marshall, Michon Marshall, brothers; Kirk (Rikki) Fast Horse, Kent and Terry Fasthorse, Bill Jandreau.
Pati was preceded in death by her father; Art Moran, Grandmother; Catherine Dog Eagle Moran and mother-in-law; Francine Kennedy and father-in-law; Rodney Thomas Kennedy.
