Major League Baseball Player. Outfielder for the New York Giants beginning the 1942 season. He served three years in the military during World War II and returned for 1946-1949 seasons. The Giants traded him to the Boston Braves for the 1950 season and into the 1952 season he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. Two seasons later, he was again traded to the Chicago White Sox where he played a season and a half when he was released in June 1955. He batted .274 over his 11 year career with 1,160 hits and 130 home runs.
