Her husband was George Edward Gleistein (1876-After 1930). They were divorced between 1910 and 1920.

It appears that between 1920 and 1930 the entire family changed their surnames to match the stage name of Maude's daughter Florence, who was a well known silent film actress from 1920-1927 as "Florence Gilbert". There is no evidence that Maude was ever married to anyone with the surname "Gilbert", but she, her daughter Mae and her son Edward all ended up changing their surnames to Gilbert.

She is interred with her granddaughter Patricia Campsie.
