Tommie Fred Carter, 65 died Monday morning, May 5, 2014 at Southeast Georgia Regional Hospital with family at his side.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Bay Harbor Church of God with Bro. John Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with David Dubberly, Eddie Dubberly, Gerald Bennett, Andrew Clark, Mikey Joiner, and Robbie Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Georgia Ports Authority Security Dept., Kingdom Builders Sunday School Class, Lemuel Carter, Davey Sapp, David Strickland, Roy Swain, Chris McCarthy, and Jeff Ulrich.
Born in Alma, Georgia, Mr. Carter resided in Brunswick most of his life. Mr. Carter recently retired from Ga. Ports Authority. He dearly loved his family and his extended family at Bay Harbor Church of God. Mr. Carter was predeceased by his parents, Osbin and Stella Carter, two brothers, Harry and Hugh Carter, one sister Patricia Miller.
Mr. Carter's survivors include his wife of 30 years, Verna Lee Carter, 4 children, David Dubberly, Donna Kramer, Barbara Hawley (Craig), Eddie Dubberly (Brenda). The surviving grandchildren are Michele Clark (Andrew), Rachel Bailey (Chad), Jessica Joiner (Michael), Derek DeGeer (MaryGrace), Breanna Dubberly, Pamela Dubberly. Mr. Carter is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
