Funeral services for Helen Celesta Mathis have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, May 9, 2014 at Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Pastor Bob Green will officiate. Burial will be at Park Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Helen Celesta Mathis was born Sunday, May 14, 1939 the daughter of Charles William and Effie Mae "Ma Susie" (Lenox) Webb. She died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Monday, May 5, 2014. She was 74 years of age.
The former Miss Celesta Webb was a 1957 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. She studied business management at Droughns Business College in Tulsa.
She was married to Doyle Mathis on September 18, 1982 at Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Celesta was the Office Manager at the Broken Arrow Farmers Coop for some 42 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed reading, traveling, painting and was an active volunteer with Medic's, Arms Around Broken Arrow and her church, Arrow Heights Baptist.
