WOOD RIVER - Funeral services are pending for George Bohnart, 64, a retired Wood River community farmer who died Saturday in a Grand Island hospital. Relatives are awaiting word from a son stationed in Vietnam. Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River will be in charge of funeral arrangements. The family requests no flowers.

Mr. Bohnart was born Oct. 19, 1902, at Lawrence to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bohnart and in 1920 moved with his parents to a farm north of Wood River. He married Eunice Collins on Jan. 11, 1927 at Fort Collins, Colo., and farmed near Wood River until 1965 when ill health caused his retirement. He then moved into Wood River where he continued to reside. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Wood River and the Knights of Columbus of Grand Island.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Hansen of Wood River and Mrs. William Ellis of Omaha; five sons, Walter and Ed of Omaha, Robert of Doniphan, Andrew of Shelton and Gary of Vietnam; 16 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Clanton of Wood River. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Donald; and one sister.
