Jennie Lynn Gorden, a very beautiful, creative and intelligent woman, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004.
She is survived by her mother, Suma Hines; her sisters, Peggy and Martha; her brother, David and her only daughter, Patsy .
Born in Taylorsville, Jennie later moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for United Technologies as an export manager for more than 30 years and raised her daughter. She was known for her creative endeavors. She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes, jewelry bags, purses - you name it - she could make it. She loved to work with fabric. Her wonderful talent for decorating, not only was visually pleasing but inspired many people to seek out their own creative force. After retirement, she returned to North Carolina to live in Hickory, where she would be closer to her family.
Her natural beauty, kindness and sense of humor always brought value to any situation. She carried herself with confidence and determination. A gentle loving soul, she will be forever loved and missed.
