Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, January 13, 1958, page 2:
  Mrs. Sarah Wilson Wood, 75, who had resided for a number of years at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. V.H. Mindrup, 301 South Charles street, died at an Alton hospital at 2 p.m. Saturday. She had been in failing health.
  The deceased was born May 1, 1882 in Edwardsville. Her parents were the late John J. and Sarah Sappington Wilson. She was married June 24, 1908 at Belleville to Ben Wood, who preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1947.
  She is survived, in addition to her daughter, by one son, Alvin R. Wood; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Jenny) Schwartzkopf, Edwardsville; and three grandchildren.
  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
  Friends may call at the Straube funeral home until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church to await the 9 o'clock services. The Rev. P.P. McGuinness, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery.
  The rosary will be said at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday.

Pallbearers were T.Z. Ladd, Joseph F. Ladd, Dallas T. Harrell, P.J. Anesi, Henry J. Kreuiter Jr., and James Abbee.
