Mr. Harry Wilford Spencer, Sr., age 85 of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his home. He was born on Friday, June 15, 1928 in Anderson, SC to the late Tallie Comer and Cora Louise Hyde Spencer. Mr. Spencer, Sr. served in the United States Marines. He was a member of O'Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of sixty-four years, Mrs. Dorothy Helen Smith Spencer of the home; children; two sons and spouses, Harry Wilford Spencer, Jr. of TX and Steve Russell Spencer of Adairsville, GA; one daughter, Patricia Ann Bordeaux of Mineral Bluff, GA; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins officiating. Music will be by O'Zion Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in the O'Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Lanning, Jr., Michael Lanning, Josh Brown, Cray Spencer, Reese Spencer and Tyler Townsend.
