Uncle Clarence died of peritonitis from suppurative appendicitis, age 18. He was first seen by the doctor on Nov 17th, had his appendix removed on the 20th, and died at 8:45 p.m. at Grace Hospital on the 23rd.

Uncle Clarence worked for Chevrolet in the blueprint department at the time of his death. He and his youngest brother Chris (my father) shared the same birth day, only Clarence was 12 years older. Dad was six years old when Clarence died, but he never forgot that the two of them were born on the same day.

In 1920 Clarence was a newsboy. He sold his newspapers on the street. "Hear ye, hear ye, hear all about it." What a handsome fella. I assume he sold quite a few newspapers.

Uncle Clarence has no headstone in the cemetery.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

Uncle Clarence, you were not and are not forgotten.
