Marcella "Sally" Ellis, 91, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2014.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Dougherty Hospice House for their support in her final days.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Sally was born in rural Inwood, IA to Sigvald and Pearl Larson on October 23, 1922. She grew up and attended country school in Inwood, IA and Canton, SD.

She married Roy Ellis on August 8, 1947 in Flandreau, SD. When Roy passed away, Sally took over ownership and operation of the rental properties for 40+ years.

Sally was a member of East Side Lutheran for 64 years. She enjoyed Nickelodeon television, playing bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family in a myriad of activities.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband Roy Ellis; parents, Sigvald and Pearl Larson; one son Steve; sister, Darlene Larson and son in law, Don Johnson.

Sally is survived by her sister LaWanda Nelson of Sioux Falls; daughter Sandy (Jeff) Armstrong of Sioux Falls; son Mike (Carol) of Ramsey, MN; daughter Tammie Johnson of Golden, CO; son Steve (Brenda) Ellis of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren, Kelli (Lon) Levenhagen, Kerri (Scott) Keogh, Lisa (John) Shepherd, Josh Ellis, Troy (Tara) Ellis, Tiffany Johnson, Cody Johnson, Tyler Ellis and Hailey Ellis; and nine great grandchildren, Landon Levenhagen, Jordan Armstrong, Sierra Shepherd, Kaylee Keogh, Griffin Keogh, Morgan Ellis, Donovan Beatty, Hannah Conrad and Taylor Johnson.
