Mrs. Birdie Mae Williams, age 75, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Gadsden, Ala. She was a native of Dixons Mill, Ala. She was a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she served in the Gospel Choir and numerous other boards. She later became a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where serviced as youth advisor of the Michael Wilson Children Ministry/Choir; in charge of the Pastor's Aide and a member of the Missionary Society. She had retired from Vanity Fair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Leo Williams.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Patricia (Michael) Cook and Efren Leon Williams, all of Gadsden, Phyllis (Ernest) Frazier of Shreveport, La, Tabatha (Rufus) Sanford of McDonough, Ga., Consuelo (Elder Norman) Hodge of Homestead, Fla., Marcus A. Williams of Gadsden; grandchildren, Meghan (Dock) DeRamus of Birmingham, Ala., Michael E. (Parrissia) Cook, II and Brandi Williams, all of Gadsden, Mondrea Bullard of Shreveport, Randall Williams of Atlanta, Ga., Norman III and Michael Hodge both of Homestead, Daniel and R'Shun Sanford of McDonough, Ga.; brother, David (Ruth) Stegall of Gadsden; sisters, Dorothy Jones of Orlando, Fla., Thelma (Bobby) Johnson of Dixons Mill, Gwynn (Bishop Jewell) Thomas of Gadsden; brothers-in-law, Leroy (Minnie) Williams of Atmore, Ala., Herman (Barbara) Williams of Oak Park, Mi., Willie Fred (Constance) Williams of Seattle, Wash.; sister-in-law, Lula Bell Stegall of Satsuma, Ala., Idell (Robert) Longmire of Atmore, Burnestine Williams of Daphne, Ala.; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Freemanville with Rev. Michael Wilson, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Williams Family Cemetery on Jack Springs Rd.

Public viewing will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 from 2 until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.

Her body will lie instate at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.
