Delbert Earl "Del" Moss, 85, 511 E. Macon, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997, at McCune-Brooks Hospital after a short illness.Mr. Moss was born Aug. 31, 1911, in Jasper County. He was a longtime Carthage resident. He was self-employed at Moss Repair Shop and retired in January 1980. He was a member of Elm Road Church of Christ, Carthage.He married Lucille Bryan on Jan. 4, 1933. She died July 2, 1992.He was also preceded in death by a daughter.Survivors include two sons, Roger Moss, Carthage, and David Moss, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Chester Moss, Joplin; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.Memorial graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Dudman Springs Cemetery, southeast of Carthage. The body will be cremated.Contributions may be made to the Carthage Shrine Club Transportation Fund, in care of Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
