Funeral services for James W. Copeland, 91, pioneer Portland merchant, who died at the home of his son, Fred A. Copeland, 155 Umatilla avenue, Thursday, will be held at Finley's Chapel at 11 A.M. today. Burial will be at Riverview cemetery.
Mr. Copeland, who was born in Illinois, was a resident of Portland for more than 35 years and was engaged in the grocery business. He is survived by a daughter, Harriet M. Copeland, Portland, and five sons, Guy D., Palmer, Frank E., Fred A. and Winfred Copeland, all of Portland. Mr. Copeland's wife died in 1924.
