Joseph Chapman Huffman, 93, of Westview St., Narrows, departed this life Friday morning, December 20, 2013. Born on June 3, 1920 in Craig County, he was a son of the late Ana and Gillie Hypes Huffman. He was retired from Instrumentation at the Celanese Plant at Narrows with 42 yrs. service and was a veteran of the U S Army, WW II. He was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) in Narrows. Preceding him in death were his brothers Tom and Fulton and his sister Martha.





He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of sixty-six years Buelah McCroskey Huffman; his son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Alice Martin Huffman; his daughter Carol H. Boitnott of Narrows; his grandchildren David and Susan Huffman, Cody Huffman, and Brittany Brown; his great-grandchildren McKinna, Parker, Isaiah, and Preston.





Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. There will be no public visitation time, the family will greet friends at the graveside. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
