Evelyn Marie Shipley was born June 1, 1924 in Pocahontas, Iowa, the daughter of James and Leone (Spencer) Shipley.
Evelyn grew up on a farm between Newell and Fonda, Iowa. She attended school in Newell, graduating from Newell High School in 1944.
On September 26, 1945 Evelyn was united in marriage to Clayton Kenneth Ellwanger in Reno, Nevada. Together they were blessed with three children: Dennis Kenneth, David Lee, and Dwight Douglas.
Evelyn spent her life as a homemaker. She helped out in every way she could, whether it be raising their children or helping on the farm.
Evelyn was a faithful member of Faith Bible Christian Outreach Center. She enjoyed the years she spent there as well as the many friends she made.
Evelyn was a stylish woman. She loved wearing her jewelry, especially while playing the slots at the casino. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, gardening, and fishing.
Most of all, family was the most important to Evelyn. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; parents; step-parents; and infant son, David.
