Maret Hackley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hackley, is out of the service of his country with an honorable discharge in his pocket. He was on the battleship, "Wisconsin," some eight or ten months, but a bad heart made him have to give up his work.

Maret Hackley, 90, of Stanford, Rt. 3, died Thursday, January 31, at his residence.
A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 2, 1889, to the late James and Annie Elizabeth Maret Hackley. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are: a son, Charles Hackley of Rt. 1, Stanford; a daughter, Anny Wyler of Rt. 3, Stanford; six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leather Bowling Hackley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Beazley-Raney-Speaks Funeral Home by Rev. Julian Hammons. Burial was in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
