Caroline E. Langnese, age 87, a Manitowoc resident, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.
She was born on December 7, 1926 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late James and Margaret (Lesperance) Skrivanie. On June 6, 1953 she married Daniel M. Langnese in Crystal Falls, MI. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1980. She grew up in Two Rivers, moving to Manitowoc after her marriage. Caroline was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; sharing a shoulder and ear for anyone in need as well as a cup of coffee. She was a member of the "Round-up Girls" and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar on WOMT.
Survivors include her children: Tom (Langnese) Huycke, Emily & Jim Phillips, Daniel & Karen Langnese, Bill & Cindy Langnese, Sharon & Rigo Cota, James Langnese, Debbie Langnese, and Dawn & Dan Wachholz, all of Manitowoc; 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister: Betty Welnicke, Manitowoc; and one sister-in-law: Mrs. Claude (Helen) Skrivanie. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Lorraine L. Skrivanie; two brothers: Claude and Clifford Skrivanie; and a brother-in-law: Paul Welnicke, Sr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 until 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Laurel Grove/Shady Lane Garden Flower Fund.
