Shirley Ann Chouinard, 76, Menominee, died July 10, 2010, at home. She was born May 17, 1934, in Winona, MN, to the late John and Anna (Muras) Dearman.

She owned and operated Open Door Catering for many years and also worked as the head cook and the Menominee County Jail and the Menominee Elk's Club. She later went to work for KSU Industries in Marinette, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and reading. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by four daughters: Lee (Tony) Chaltry, Lynne (John) Helfert, Lori (Bob) Berg, and Lisa Chouinard (special friend, Tracey Lockridge) all of Menominee;
two sons: Jon (Hilda) Chouinard, Celaya Mexico, and Brian (Debbie) Chouinard, Menominee, MI;
13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter;
two sisters: Beverly Schammel, Winona, and Joni Pankratz, Greenwood, IN;
one brother, John Dearman, San Diego, CA;
one sister-in-law, Frances Dearman, Douglas, GA,
nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Dearman; two grandsons, Keith James Helfert and Eric Scott Hallam; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Pankratz and Ray Schammel.

Friends may gather at noon for a memorial service July 30 at the John Hennes Park, Menominee. The Rev. Paul Strom will officiate. A celebration of Shirley's life will follow the memorial service with food and fellowship. Burial will be at the Birch Creek Cemetery.
