Lucille M. Painter (1932 - 2014)

OLEAN - Lucille M. Painter, formerly of Laurel Avenue, Olean, passed away Monday (April 28, 2014) in Cuba Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.

Born Oct. 6, 1932, in Bolivar, she was a daughter of the late Lonny Lee "Junior" and Ruth Waters Harris. She married Donald Foster, who predeceased her, and later married James Painter, who passed away in 1988.

Lucille was a graduate of Bolivar High School, and was employed at various businesses, including the Market Basket offices in Olean, Tito's Restaurant as a bartender, the Hinsdale American Legion, the Olean Answering Service and Home Health Care Center.

She was a longtime member of the Olean Eagles Auxiliary, where she was a past president and held many other offices.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Alan) Higby of Varick; four sons, Thomas (Elisa) Painter of Portville, Timothy Painter of Olean, Terry Painter of Olean and Todd (Kathy) Painter of Olean; 15 grandchildren; four sisters, Marlene (Raymond) Jordan of Kentucky, Mary Anne "Wickie" Harris of Va., Virginia (William) Gardner of Scio and JoAnn Keller of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by Leigh Harris and James Harris.

Interment will be in Maplelawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
