Found in The State 10 March 1942: Harry Kenton Kreps, 53, of Columbia, died yesterday at the government hosptial at Oteen, N. C., after and extended illness. He had been a patient at Oteen for several months. Mr. Kreps was the son of the late Rev. M. O. J. Kreps and Mrs. Nannie Carper Kreps of Columbia. His father was, for many years, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran and his mother was also prominent in church and civic work. Mr. Kreps was born at Newport, Va., January 19, 1889. He was a veteran of the World war and the Mexican Border campaign and a member of the Lutheran church. He is survived by two sons, Harry Kenton Kreps, Jr., now in the air corps in Hawaii, and Kenneth J. Kreps of Richtex; and five brothers, M. O. J. Kreps, Kenneth Kreps and Tracy Kreps of Columbia, C. H. Kreps of Norfolk, Va., and Claude Y. Kreps of Augusta, Ga. Mr. Kreps leaves many friends who will join with his family in mourning his passing.
