Bert was born August 4, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Bert E. Johnson, Sr. and Shirley Jean Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Lana Peterson; children, Bert Knapp (Sarah), Tammy Kirkpatrick, Gabriel Johnson, and Jeremy Leeper Peterson; grandchildren, Adrian, Alea, Lucas, and Baby Bert on the way; father, Bert E. Johnson, Sr. (Gloria); siblings, Vicki Hofer (Bob), Pam Johnson, Clarence Thompson, Ralph Johnson, and Claressa Button (Gary); five step-brothers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jean.
