Dorothy Jean Adams, 83, of New Boston died Friday May 2, 2014 at River Bend Retirement Center. She was born June 26, 1928 in Johnson Co., KY. a daughter of the late Thomas and Erie Williams Rice. Dorothy was a member of Cedar St. Church of Christ in Christian Union and had formerly worked at Bragdon's Dept. Store, Marting's and Williams Manufacturing. She is survived by a son, Dr. Aaron Adams and wife Kathy of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Angela See and husband Steve of Wheelersburg; 4 grandchildren, Aaron (Michelle) Adams, Amanda (Chris) Skiver, Dr. Ashley See-Pfeiffer (Marchen) and Jessica (Ryan) Harrah; 8 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Skiver, Hannah Skiver, Sydney Skiver, Payton Pfeiffer, Benjamin Harrah, Dylan Pfeiffer, Grady Harrah and Anderson Adams and a special niece, Sherlene Rice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Adams; 3 brothers, Virgil Rice, Herman Rice and Guy Rice; 5 sisters, Betty Rice, Faye Blair, Alka Picklesimer, Lucy Weaver and Ann Williams. Services will be 11:30 AM Monday May 5, 2014 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating. Interment will follow at Old Wheelersburg cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4 to 6 PM and Monday 10 to 11:30 AM at D.W. SWICK IN NEW BOSTON. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
