Founder of Ypsilanti Mineral Water, patented in 1885.

Attended Michigan State University then moved to Ypsilanti and was primarily engaged in the milling industry until he founded his Ypsilanti Mineral Water business.

On 23 August 1866 in Marine City, St. Clair County, Michigan, Tubal wed Anna Stowe Foote, daughter of Ezra Ward & Sarah S. (Cook) Foote. Ezra was employed as a music professor at Michigan State Normal College in Ypsilanti.

Tubal and Anna's marriage produced the following children:

1. Eber Ward Owen, born 13 June 1868 in Ypsilanti and died 25 February 1943 a single man in Ypsilanti.

2. Richard Lawrence Owen, born 29 May 1870 in Ypsilanti and died a single man on 02 May 1940 in Ypsilanti.

3. Abba Eirene/Lena Owen, born 30 July 1872 in Ypsilanti and died a single woman on 04 September 1941.
