Jean Louise Abt, age 85, of Fairfax, VA passed away on Sunday, April 27th.
The daughter of the late Charles and Louise Walthers, Jean was born on March 8th, 1929 in Queens, New York. Jean graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in New York City in 1946.
She was married to Harold H. Abt Sr. on June 24th 1950. They lived together in New City, NY for 46 years before relocating to Fairfax in 2005. Jean was a Librarian's technician in the Nanuet School District for more than 20 years until she retired in 1995. She loved to cook, knit and crochet. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Harold H Abt, Sr.; her three sons, James H. Abt of Fairfax, VA; Robert C. Abt of Sterling, VA; Harold H. Abt, Jr. of Park Ridge, NJ; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service for Jean will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12410 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy, Fairfax.
