Gayle A. Elder Anderson, 56, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family and pet Sophie. Gayle was born May 8, 1957 at US Naval Station Hospital in Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada.

She is survived by her husband, James A. Anderson of Mechanicsburg; her father, Donald R. Elder of Carlisle; and her mother, Annabelle Gray Elder of Mechanicsburg.

A 1975 Mechanicsburg High School graduate. Gayle was a former District Justice in Mechanicsburg. She recently retired from the Commonwealth of PA as a paralegal in the Office of Chief Counsel. She worked for the Commonwealth for past 20 years in many capacities, including the Turnpike Commission. Gayle was the former owner/operator of "Cuts N Stuff" in Mechanicsburg. An active member of the First United Methodist Church, she loved working with the youth, youth panels and especially the "youth sleep out." She loved to travel and attend NASCAR. Politically active, Gayle proudly worked for Governor Ridge's Campaign.
