DAVID E. HARTH, 86, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Roanoke, Va., David worked in school maintenance with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He was a charter member of Bethany United Methodist Church, World War II Navy veteran, and a charter member of the Army Navy Union 57 Fort Wayne, American Legion Post 82, Summit City Lodge 170, Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, Shoaff Park Lions Club, and volunteered as a driver for taking children to Chicago to the Shrine Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Rosetta; son, Thomas (Paula) Harth of Fort Wayne; brother, Herbert (Edna) Harth of Valparaiso, Ind.; two sisters, Christine (Calvin) Crane of Roanoke, Va. and Ruby Turcott of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Sean Harth, Nicholas Harth and Stephanie Harth, all of Fort Wayne, Joshua Harth of New Haven, and Desiree Harth of Fort Wayne; great-grand child, Grace, Zane, Treyton and Alexa. He was preceded in death by mother, Ava Harth; father, David Harth; son, Daniel Harth; and sister, Florence Tucker. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev Jerry Wood officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 Monday, May 5, 2014, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
