She was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Waco. She retired at age 75 as serving as bookkeeper/receptionist for her brother, Dr. William B. Dean. She served as president of the Dallas Business Women's Association during the 1950s. Dorothy was a longtime member of Oak Cliff United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in life eternal by her parents, Dr. Jessie Judge Dean and Jessie Trice Dean of Waco; her brothers, Jack Dean, Jerry Lee Dean and Dr. William B. Dean; and three sisters, Anna Bell Williams, Carrie Walsh and Lida Mae Flurry
Survivors: Her sisters, Lena Lou Staton, Monnie Steger, Helen Choate and Margaret Turner; children, Katherine Nell Field Lee and Billy Joe Field; grandchildren, Laura Lee Thomas, Joseph Dean Lee and wife, Amy, Glenn Field, Angela Lee Field Baltzer and husband, Geoff, and Ashlee Dean Field; and great-grandchildren, Paul, Chris, Zachary, Madison, Jonathon, Cody, Presley and Luke.
